Christian (Claes Bang) is a devoted father of two. He is the respected curator of a Swedish contemporary museum whose ethos is to support good causes. His next show is ‘The Square’, featuring an art installation reminding the viewers of their responsibilities to fellow human beings. However it is sometimes difficult to live up to your own ideals especially when real life takes over.

In the elegant world of artists and musicians in early 1900s Denmark, the once famous and sophisticated singer Gertrud (Nina Pens Rode) finally ends her marriage to her lawyer husband Gustav. Her new lover is a young composer Erland Jansson (Bendt Rothe). Despite all her efforts he is unable to give her his total love as demanded leaving Gertrud to seek a further escape but to where and with whom?

Lars Erik Eriksson, our vicar in the 90s, will lead the service. Our Sunday services reflect our Nordic Lutheran tradition but all are very welcome to join the congregation, pray and sing with us, hear the Word and receive communion or blessing. Bilingual liturgy booklets are provided.
VALKOINEN PEURA (THE WHITE REINDEER)

Set in Finnish Lapland, Valkoinen Peura is based on pre-Christian Finnish mythology and Sami shamanism. The film centres on a young woman called Pirita who meets Aslak, a reindeer herder, and they soon marry. Aslak must spend time away for work, leaving his new bride lonely. In an effort to alleviate her loneliness and ignite marital passion, Pirita visits the local shaman, leading to tragic results.
