Our traditional bazaar offers lovely open sandwiches and cakes, hot dogs and glögg on two floors. Handicraft items are also on sale. In the basement you can buy home-made cakes, Scandinavian food, Swedish glass, Christmas decorations, the popular Scandinavian vintage sale and a number of other things. ALL proceeds go to the up-keep of the church.

His next show is ‘The Square’, featuring an art installation reminding the viewers of their responsibilities to fellow human beings. However it is sometimes difficult to live up to your own ideals especially when real life takes over.

In the elegant world of artists and musicians in early 1900s Denmark, the once famous and sophisticated singer Gertrud (Nina Pens Rode) finally ends her marriage to her lawyer husband Gustav. Her new lover is a young composer Erland Jansson (Bendt Rothe). Despite all her efforts he is unable to give her his total love as demanded leaving Gertrud to seek a further escape but to where and with whom?

VALKOINEN PEURA (THE WHITE REINDEER)
Erik Blomberg, Finland, 1952 (74 mins), B&W
Set in Finnish Lapland, Valkoinen Peura is based on pre-Christian Finnish mythology and Sami shamanism. The film centres on a young woman called Pirita who meets Aslak, a reindeer herder, and they soon marry. Aslak must spend time away for work, leaving his new bride lonely. In an effort to alleviate her loneliness and ignite marital passion, Pirita visits the local shaman, leading to tragic results.
