Due to the Corona virus threat, the LiNC Board has taken the decision to cancel all gatherings and events at the Nordic Church and Community Centre, with immediate effect till further notice.
This decision was not made lightly, but, in the light of the reality of the center’s ability to fulfill the recommendations and guidelines laid out by various government and local community health specialist guidelines, it was felt best to close the church and cancel gatherings in order to safeguard both the voluntary personnel as well as the visiting public, many of whom fall in the vulnerable category.
All events are hence cancelled or postponed till future notice.
This includes Wednesday coffee morning, language schools, the Film Club evenings and Church services as well as other gatherings.
Stay well, stay safe. See you all before long in happier circumstances.
Dear all,
The church building has been closed since mid-March last year. The LiNC board has been preparing for the possibility of reopening but a lot of precautions have to take place in an old three-storied building for it to be as safe as possible from the Corona virus in general and especially for older, vulnerable people. It is not an unknown fact that it is mostly this group who attend a church service or event. But it is also this vulnerable group of people that make up the management and volunteers who help to make it as safe as possible.
Anyone who would like to participate in the Gustaf Adolf Nordic Congregation’s Zoom services on most Sundays at 11.30am can contact marissants@gmail.com, the pastor in charge, or stan.royden@hotmail.co.uk for information about how to join in with Zoom.
If you want more information regarding the church building you can contact rogermetcalf1@hotmail.co.uk
We hope now that vaccinations have arrived, it is not too long until the building can safely be opened.
Best regards
Roger and Stan
Liverpool International Nordic Community and Gustaf Adolf Nordic Congregation
We have launched a Christmas and New Year Appeal to help replace the funds we have lost as a result of the closure of the church due to COVID. At this time of year we would have undertaken a number of significant fundraising activities such as the Christmas Bazaar, Lucia Concert together with the generally increased attendance at this time of year. So far this year we have had to use over £5000 of our reserves to pay the bills even though the church is closed. Whilst the appeal wont fill this gap, all funds raised will help to bridge the gap between our income and expenditure.
