‘THE IDEA OF NORTH’
The Quartet is made up of staff and students from Liverpool University. They have been playing since 2017 and have played Beethoven, Mozart, and many others.
The pieces in this concert are connected by a zig-zag route leading to the extreme north. The North is an idea that draws the imagination and the explorer. The southernmost point is a solo work by a French composer. Then the journey passes through Edinburgh, Berlin and Finland until the Arctic Circle is reached with Seán Doherty’s atmospheric investigation of historic encounters with Inuit music.
